7 key to a perfect makeup (Malay feature and complexion)

This week we will be talking on makeup tips for Malay skin and features. The main focus is embrace and work with those Malay feature and complexion that you have. 

Now lets get to the actual fun stuff The Makeup

 1. BASE
Every good makeup start with a great base
  • Primer this help to ensure your makeup last longer (especially those who have oily skin you wont want your makeup to be gone half way trough the day)
  • Foundation use foundation that suit your skin type and color (most malaysian makeup artist would use a full coverage foundation)
  • Concealer cover your under eye and blemish

2. Eyebrow
For eyebrow never overdraw it and just follow your natural browline
  • Draw and Fill in following your natural brow line and then brush it using a spoolie.
  • Conceal taking a concealer to shape and achieve a cleaner look

3. Eyeshadow
As the saying goes "eye is the window of the soul" so we tend to pay more attention to the eye
  • Eyeshadow Primer help with the lasting of the eyeshadow and also act as a base for the eyeshadow 
  • Crease using a lighter shade and blend it in your crease
  • Center eyelid take a darker shade then apply it in the center of your eyelid
  • Bottom lid take the excess shadow and apply to the bottom lid
  • Blend then blend the eyeshadow to create a gradient look (I find this is suitable for malay eye features)
  • Inner corner using a glitter shadow or highlight for a fresh and dewy look

4. "Baking" and powdering
  • "Baking" is optional but if you want to do it you can set the translucent powder before doing your eye makeup and brush off the excess powder after 10 minutes (the purpose of it is to set your makeup)
  • Powder your face to set your makeup in place.

 5. Blush and Highlighter I would say this step is important as it give life to your face
  • Blush is apply on the apple of your cheek this is to give a fresh and youthful feel.
  • Highlighter is apply on the cheekbone, nose bridge, chin, forehead and cupid bow

6. Eyeliner and Mascara
To complete your eye makeup
  • Eyeliner draw a sharp line (we could see most Malay makeup artist like to draw a sharp and tick eyeliner)
  • Mascara to finish off apply your mascara

7. Lips
The last step to complete your makeup look is lips where you can use one color lip product or do an gradient lips.
